Through the Lens of Wellness

As part of ODU’s Themester, Arts and Social Justice, students from the Introduction to Art Therapy class will partner with a local art therapist to facilitate expressive arts experiences designed to explore healing properties of art concepts of wellness. These groups are intended for activists who have been pouting their energy into the current social justice movements in America. Free and open to the public.

Nov. 9: Parts of a Whole

Surveying community access and meaning of wellness by showcasing individually created life size puzzle pieces.

Nov. 16: Things We Carry

Exploring the art of letting go through assemblage, by placing focus on the things we carry literally and figuratively. Participants are encouraged to bring an item that they are willing to let go of, no larger than 12x12".

Nov. 30: How We Rest

Focusing on the different types and importance of rest through the creation of a community quilt.
