The Ghost of You: An Interactive Solo Exhibition on Grief and Survival by Jennifer Ditona
On view beginning April 2, 2021 at the Goode Theatre, 4601 Monarch Way, Old Dominion University, Norfolk, Virginia.
Jennifer Ditona is a documentary photographer who has worked for multiple NGOs both nationally and globally. This project brings together her graduate degree focus on public health, art, and gender studies.
Through photographs and voice, this public installation shares a universal grief that has often been verbally, emotionally, and visually silenced during the coronavirus pandemic. Experience the stories of front line workers and survivors and connect to your own journey of grief, relationships, and community.
This exhibition has been designed to be safely viewed inside the gallery, as well as from the outside. The large-scale photography can be seen, in full, from the street and the personal stories of each of the participants can be heard through the galleries indoor and outdoor speaker system.
