Montreal-Toronto Express: Jewish Culture and Literature North of the Border

A 3 Part Series PRESENTED BY DR. PETER SCHULMAN, Professor of French and International Studies at ODU

The United Jewish Federation of Tidewater and Simon Family JCC’s Lee and Bernard Jaffe Family Jewish Book Festival, in collaboration with Old Dominion University’s Department of World Languages and Cultures as part of a fellowship with the Canadian Association of Jewish Scholars and the Vered Center of Jewish Studies at the University of Ottawa presents an exciting 3-part series on Canadian literature and poetry.

Acclaimed poet Lisa Richter, is the author of two books of poetry, Closer to Where We Began, and Nautilus and Bone. She is most well known for her writings about Ana Margolin and is the winner of the prestigious 2020 National Jewish Book Award for her poetry collection in Nautilus and Bone. She will discuss her poetry, Ana Margolin’s life, and works, and will read from her new book.
