Montreal-Toronto Express: Jewish Culture and Literature North of the Border

The United Jewish Federation of Tidewater and Simon Family JCC’s Lee and Bernard Jaffe Family Jewish Book Festival, in collaboration with Old Dominion University’s Department of World Languages and Cultures as part of a fellowship with the Canadian Association of Jewish Scholars and the Vered Center of Jewish Studies at the University of Ottawa presents an exciting 3-part series on Canadian literature and poetry.
A Yiddish-French Quebecois poet, and author of several popular books on Leonard Cohen, Ringuet grew up in Quebec City and fell in love with the Yiddish language. She has since become a leading Yiddish translator and specialist. Her research and creative writing focus on the preservation and transmission of the collective memory of Jewish heritage worldwide.
