HOMEsick is an original work for theatre by Deborah Wallace, exploring the American mythology. Fourteen pioneers are on a wagon train heading west, in search for a new life; they find instead betrayal. This past being prologue, we fast-forward to the present day, where politicians travel the campaign trail, immigrants journey towards our border, addicts trip into opioid dreams -- people are still looking for a place to call Home ...and betrayal is still around every corner, the Promised Land still elusive.
HOMEsick is an intimate and revealing look at what we, as a nation, are really searching for, and where are we headed - what is the American Dream, and what if it's reduced to a cautionary parable?
HOMEsick is produced with the generous support of the Hellenic Studies Endowment.
