This annual exhibition
features select works by students of Old Dominion University's Art
Department programs. It represents the breadth and quality of art
produced by undergraduates in disciplines including drawing and design,
graphic design, print and photo media, painting and 3-D media.
of the exhibition, Kimberli Gant, Ph.D., is the McKinnon Curator of
Modern & Contemporary Art at the Chrysler Museum of Art in Norfolk,
Virginia. Prior to coming to the Chrysler, she was the Mellon Doctoral
Fellow in the Arts of Global Africa Department at the Newark Museum in
Newark, New Jersey. She is also formerly the Curator of Exhibitions and
Public Programs at the Museum of Contemporary African Diasporan Arts in
Brooklyn, New York.
Gant has curated and co-curated numerous
exhibitions, and is widely published in scholarly exhibition catalogs,
magazines, and journals. She holds a Ph.D. in Art History from the
University of Texas at Austin, an M.A. in Art History from Columbia
University, and a B.A. from Pitzer College in Claremont, California.
